Permit to Work System

Permit to Work System is designed and intended to ensure compliance to internal management system and regulatory requirements by:

Establishing safe working practices and eliminating common PTW problems such as human error, shift handovers, fatigue and poor job safety analysis;
Maintaining a safe system of work;
Demonstrating that work is being controlled to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) to meet internal management system requirements as a demonstration of compliance to the regulator.

Learning outcomes :

The participants shall acquire knowledge and skill related to safety awareness of the PTW system of workplace to prevent and reduce related workplace accidents congruent with industry standards and competence.

At the end of this course, participants should be able to demonstrate understanding of the content through application of knowledge to familiar and unfamiliar situations. In particular they should be able to:

Describe the legal standards and aims of PTW system;
Describe the principles of activities covered by PTW;
Outline the principles of PTW procedure;
Describe the basic principles of PTW application;
Describe the responsibilities of PTW system; and
Describe the important guidelines of PTW system.
